The “Hubei Province Training Conference on New Standards and Technologies for Rabies Exposure Prophylaxis and Management,” hosted by the Hubei Provincial Society of Preventive Medicine and co-organized by Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University (Hubei Provincial People’s Hospital) and Jinyintan Hospital of Wuhan, successfully concluded in Wuhan in September 2025. As a key player in rabies prevention and control, Zhuoyi Biotechnology attended the event, bringing its next-generation human‑derived rabies vaccine—essential for outpatient settings—and contributing professional expertise to the conference.
Leading experts gather to provide in-depth analysis of key issues in prevention and control.
This training session brought together leading experts in rabies prevention and control from across China and within Hubei Province. Through a series of thematic presentations, it facilitated in-depth discussions and analyses on key issues in rabies prevention and control, thereby providing clear guidance for the sector’s future development.
· An expert team systematically analyzes domestic trends in rabies epidemiology and prevention‑control strategies, and, drawing on the core provisions of the “Guidelines for Rabies Exposure Prevention and Management (2023 Edition),” provides a detailed explanation of key clinical procedures for managing rabies‑exposure wounds, thereby offering standardized guidance for frontline prevention and control efforts.
· In a paper titled “Research Progress on Rabies Vaccines at Home and Abroad,” relevant experts reviewed the evolution of rabies vaccine development, highlighting the four major phases in China’s progress. In terms of vaccine safety and immunogenicity, Zhuoyi Biologics’ rabies vaccine, backed by an invention patent for an “antibiotic‑free rabies vaccine manufacturing process,” is the only product in China to have achieved this technological breakthrough, thereby fundamentally preventing suspected adverse reactions following vaccination that might arise from antibiotic allergies. Meanwhile, Zhuoyi Biologics’ VVM‑enabled (vaccine vial monitor) rabies vaccine, with its visually demonstrable advantages in safety and efficacy, is setting a new benchmark and driving emerging trends in industry‑wide technological advancement.
· Professor Li Wen of Hubei Provincial People’s Hospital (Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University) focused on “The Future Directions of Vero Cell–Based Rabies Vaccines,” presenting his insights across four key dimensions: rabies epidemiology, disease evolution, vaccine development, and future prospects. Regarding critical aspects of vaccine application, Professor Li emphasized that, in terms of immunogenicity, the active ingredient of a rabies vaccine is the viral strain; thus, the genetic similarity between the vaccine strain and the representative street virus circulating in China is of paramount importance. The vaccine strain derived from CTN‑1, a domestically representative strain, exhibits high homology with most local street viruses, thereby ensuring robust immune responses. In terms of safety, Zhuoyi Biotech’s rabies vaccine is manufactured without the addition of antibiotics throughout the entire production process, effectively mitigating adverse reactions associated with antibiotic allergies and reducing potential risks in clinical settings. Furthermore, Zhuoyi Biotech has introduced a VVM‑tagged rabies vaccine, which expands its product portfolio and offers greater flexibility to meet diverse clinical scenarios, cold-chain requirements, and population needs, providing clinicians with more options for vaccination.
